Converting Small Balances on VirgoCX

VirgoCX customers can easily convert small balances or leftover crypto dust to CAD. This guide will show you how and answer any questions you may have.

What are small balances?

Small balances are considered balances below the minimum buy/sell order size of an asset in your account. These small balances can arise due to leftovers from amounts entered to trade or withdraw from an account.

To qualify for conversion, the balance must also be above the equivalent of 0.01 CAD.

How to convert your small balances

On App

1. On your home screen, tap “Convert Small Balances” under “My Portfolio”.
2. Select the qualifying balances that you would like to convert. You can convert a single asset or multiple assets together. In the example below, the user has selected "All" available small balances. Once ready, you can just tap the Convert button to proceed.
3. Carefully review the amount you will receive in your chosen cryptocurrency. Tap Confirm if you are satisfied with the quote for successfully converting your small balance(s) to CAD.

On Web

1. Log in to your VirgoCX account
2. On your home screen, tap “Convert Small Balances” beside “Add Fund”.
3. Select the qualifying balances that you would like to convert. You can convert a single asset or multiple assets together. In the example below, the user has selected "All" available small balances. Once ready, you can just tap the Convert button to proceed.
4. Carefully review the amount you will receive in your chosen cryptocurrency. Tap Confirm if you are satisfied with the quote for successfully converting your small balance(s) to CAD.

Do any fees apply to the Convert Small Balances feature?

You are not charged extra fees when you use the Convert Small Balances feature. The spread of each trading pair will be equal to the spread you see on the trading page.

The conversions will happen instantly. You can check the order details in Order History.
