We are Canada's trusted cryptocurrency trading platform and dedicated to streamlining our trading experience and empowering clients with advanced technology, superior liquidity, and best-in-class security. In this article, we provide various tips for you to secure your account, along with general best practices when using our platform. Just like you, it is in our interest to keep your account safe in the fast, every growing crypto market.
Here are 3 tips you can take to increase the security of your VirgoCX account.
1. Use a strong password that no one can guess and change it regularly
This might sound quite obvious, but it is an essential step to securing your VirgoCX account. Never allow anyone to create an account or operate on your behalf, whether that be family or friends. It is imperative you create a strong password that no one can guess with a mix of letters, numbers and symbols, with a minimum of eight characters. This password should be specific to your VirgoCX account (make sure it is different from your other passwords). It is also good practice to change your passwords regularly.
Your passwords should not be written down on paper, stored in a text file, or stored using your web browser’s ‘remember by password’ function. Do not communicate your password via email or any other form of electronic communication. If you have a challenging time memorizing the password one of the best ways to store it safely is using a password management software that stores your passwords in encrypted form within a secure vault. Be careful when choosing a password management software, and ensure it is trusted and dependable.
2. Enable Google or Microsoft Authenticator
Setting up email and SMS verification is mandatory when you are creating a VirgoCX account. Moreover, we highly recommend that you make use of either Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator. Generally, Google Authenticator and Microsoft Authenticator are secure platforms that offer further protection from SIM swap attacks when compared against SMS verification.

Please note that we will never ask you for your password. Never provide anyone with your login information.
